Career Guidance That Reaches
Every Student, Not Every Assembly
Stream selection, career pathways and interview practice through an AI counsellor a student can talk to when they are actually deciding — built for the Grade 6 onward career exposure NEP 2020 asks for.
Book a DemoThe Gap Career Guidance Actually Has To Fill
Most Indian students make the single most consequential academic decision of their lives — which stream to take after Class 10 — on the basis of a family opinion, a neighbour's anecdote, and whatever their marks allow. Career guidance, where it exists at all, tends to be one talk in an auditorium in Class 12, by which point several doors have already closed.
NEP 2020 addresses this directly: it states that vocational education will begin in schools from Grade 6 and will include internships, and it removes the rigid separation between vocational and academic streams. The policy treats career exposure as a six-year process starting in middle school, not an event in the final year.
The practical obstacle for a school is arithmetic. One counsellor cannot hold a considered, individual conversation with 800 students, repeatedly, across six years. That is the specific constraint this is built for.
What A Student Can Actually Do
Talk through stream selection. A student can ask what Commerce with Mathematics leaves open that Commerce without it does not, and get a reasoned answer rather than a list. They can ask the same question again next week after thinking about it, which is the part a single annual session cannot offer.
Explore career pathways in depth. For a career a student is curious about, the conversation covers what the work involves day to day, the entrance examinations and qualifications on the path, the subject combinations that keep that path open, and the adjacent roles they may not have heard of.
Use voice instead of typing. Career conversations are discursive. Our voice counselling mode lets a student talk it through, which suits a student who would not compose the same question in writing.
Practise interviews. Our mock interview tool runs practice interviews with follow-up questioning and feedback, for students facing scholarship panels, admissions interviews or first internships under the NEP internship provision.
Identify the skills a path requires. Where a chosen path needs a capability the student does not yet have, the conversation names it, and project-based learning gives them somewhere to build it.
Why Availability Is The Whole Point
A student rarely decides their future during the timetabled careers period. It surfaces at night, after a disappointing result, or the evening before a form is due.
An AI counsellor is available at that moment. That is not a claim of superiority over a skilled human counsellor — a good counsellor who knows a student is better than any software. It is a claim about coverage: most Indian students have access to no counsellor at all, and the honest comparison is against nothing.
What This Deliberately Is Not
This is career and academic guidance. It is not a mental-health service.
If a student is in distress, they need a trained human being and, where appropriate, a crisis service — not a chatbot. NEP 2020 does encourage schools to appoint counsellors and to attend to students' social-emotional wellbeing, and we consider that provision important. But we are not going to market an AI product as a mental-health intervention for minors, because doing so responsibly requires escalation pathways and duty-of-care handling that we hold to a stricter standard than a landing page.
We would rather state that boundary plainly than let a school assume a coverage we do not provide.
For Schools And Institutions
Deployed at institutional level, career guidance runs through the same stack as the rest of the platform:
- Available to a whole cohort rather than rationed by counsellor availability.
- On a shared kiosk, so access does not depend on a student owning a device — which is the equity concern NEP raises about technology in education.
- Under teacher supervision, during school hours, on school premises.
- Aligned to the Grade 6 onward timeline the policy sets, rather than concentrated in Class 12.
Career guidance runs on the same installed stack as the rest of the platform at our first institutional partner, which began with a single machine and has since expanded to a multi-kiosk rollout.
